The purpose of the webinar is to share experiences, discuss policy and implementation models that can help accelerate the progress of economic transformation and inclusive growth in South Africa with Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as one of the catalysts.
Some of the issues that will be discussed include:
• How economic policy interventions including Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) and others mutually reinforce one another to ensure meaningful participation for Black People in the economy, ensuring better support for people’s livelihoods and well-being?
• How to coin and implement transformative partnerships to promote inclusive and equitable economic participation?
Mr. Jacob Maphutha is the Chief Director and Head of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment policy within the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition. Mr Maphutha’s passion for development and transformation has seen him serve within the public service in policy development and implementation towards growing the South African economy. His main role is to provide strategic direction and guidance on BBBEE policy both in the public and private sectors of South Africa. He holds a Masters in Business Leadership from UNISA School of Business Leadership as well as a Masters in Agricultural Economics from The University of Stellenbosch.
